About The ISAR Program

  • There is no set deadline to apply to enter the ISAR Program or StFXU; however, you will benefit by entering the Program at the beginning of your 1st or 2nd year of study;

  • Our interdisciplinary approach begins with the recognition that the problems and challenges of sustainable resource use are complex;

  • Are you interested in ... who has access to water-based resources, wetland and aquatic ecology, land use planning, aquaculture, watershed governance, conservation and sustainability, natural resource management, First Nations, climate change and adaptations, industry and groundwater, resource and environmental policy, green business ... and more? ... Then you might want to add the ISAR Major to your StFX degree;

  • ISAR is a program of a study grounded in natural science, social science and business principles that provides students with a unique understanding of how natural and social systems interact in intricate ways to define the domain of aquatic resources;

  • ISAR students participate in an applied Field Camp and Work Term, as well as a Senior Seminar and Project;

  • ISAR students earn a Bachelor of Arts, a Bachelor of Science or a Bachelor of Business Administration degree;

  • The ISAR Program Major complements your StFX degree!  You will complete TWO majors during the standard four-year undergraduate study period: (1) Aquatic Resources and (2) one other, from:
