Welcome to the StFX University Department of Biology! 

Biology is the science of living organisms and their interactions in the world around us. Many biology courses deal with the human condition, as well as the influence that humans have on the global environment. The Biology Department offers courses that emphasize the structure and function of organisms from molecules to the level of global ecology.  Programs of study are available in Microbiology, Animal and Plant Biology, Cell and Molecular Biology, Ecology and Evolution, as well as Environmental Sciences. A Co-op program in Biology is being planned to start in 2007/2008.
