Computers are integral to many parts of our society and the field continues to evolve at a rapid pace as new technologies continue to be introduced. During its fifty years of existence, computer science has become a key technology playing an important part in determining and shaping research and development in academic and industrial settings. Especially problematic are solutions to large and complex problems with tight time constraints.

The Department of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science at St. Francis Xavier University offers a research based MSc program in Computer Science. Focusing on a number of advanced courses with close research collaboration with our faculty, this program will well equip our graduate students both for working in industry and also for continuing in a university-based research career.
