The relationship between the
Faculty and the students is, on the whole, informal. The Faculty is available
at very short notice to talk with students and their office doors are always
open to them (though they might not always be in). This is a deliberate
policy of the Department: education does not involve only classroom |
|
and laboratory instruction but also informal discussions on a
variety of topics in addition to Physics. The Faculty members do much
collaborative research, not only amongst themselves, but also with faculty
members in other departments of the University as well as with researchers in
other Canadian and foreign universities and Research Institutes.
