Dr. McKenna studies pain perception and the interaction among sensory and motor systems.

His research investigates the pain-killing potential of the active ingredients of marijuana.

Dr. McKenna is funded by NSERC to explore the effect of cannabinoid drugs upon forebrain structures, and their ability to
alleviate persistent pain in a rodent model . Dr. McKenna uses behavioral neuroscience techniques.

His teaching interests include:

  • Introductory Psychology, Sensation & Perception, and Biopsychology.
