Archaeological Field School at Grand-Pré National Historic Site Summer 2002

ARCHAEOLOGICAL LAB SCHOOL: Department of Anthropology, University of New Brunswick, Fredericton The Lab School provides practical experience in the identification and analysis of archaeological materials, and interpretation of archaeological data. Students will participate in the Bliss Islands Archaeology Project (BIAP) and each student will conduct research related to the BIAP. This year the Lab School will focus on analyzing animal bone and shell assemblages from the 'Loyalist Site' (BgDr66), located on the Bliss Islands, Charlotte County, N.B. This site was the homestead of Samuel Bliss and his family from 1783-1803. It provides unusual insights into New Brunswick domestic life during the early Loyalist period. Limited Enrollment Instructor: David Black, Archaeologist, Telephone: 453-4975 Classes: Intersession, 2001 Mon.-Thurs., 10:00am-12:45pm
