Development Office Programs
Annual Giving:
- On a yearly basis alumni, parents, friends, faculty, staff, and members of the Board of Governors are approached for a "gift". The Annual Giving program secures unrestricted gifts to support the day-to-day operations of the university. Donors may designate their gift to a specific area should they so desire. The Annual Giving program employs approximately 40 students per year to call the designated donors. This allows alumni and friends to learn first-hand about StFX today from students who are actually attending. Also, alumni can leave FacultyGram messages for teachers and staff who they remember from their time in Antigonish. Capital Campaign:
St. Francis Xavier University has a number of important projects which cannot be supported through the operating budget. There are two special compaigns currently underway at StFX.
- The Gerald Schwartz School of Business and Information Systems campaign has received $22.7 million from the federal government and the province of Nova Scotia and another $11.5 million from private sources. The Gerald Schwartz School will provide a new home for over 800 students studying Business Administration and Information Systems at StFX.
- The Athletic Facilities Renewal campaign is an ambitious project by StFX to upgrade its athletics and recreation facilities to serve the needs of the university and the wider community. This project will be implemented in several phases. The initial focus or Phase 1 involves the installation of an artificial turf playing surface, track, lighting and fencing.

Planned Giving
- Many alumni, faculty, staff and friends of StFX want to leave a lasting memorial. Through planned giving and bequests individuals can receive tax benefits and provide a legacy that will support StFX, and be beneficial in the future.

- From time to time there is a need to raise funds for specific projects. Mini campaigns are conducted to acquire funds for new or operational projects. Corporations, charitable foundations, alumni and friends are contacted for support.
