 The flat fees are based on the AVERAGE cost of the repair from previous years.  The flat fee includes labour, materials and overhead.

 1.  WHAT IS MY CLEANER RESPONSIBLE FOR?

The cleaner  working in your residence during the week is responsible for all your:

1.      Washrooms

2.      Remove Garbage & Recyclables from designated areas

3.      Corridors

4.      Stairwells

5.      Laundry rooms

6.      Lounges

7.  Kitchens (Governors and Bishops)

 

2.  WHAT ARE THE PRIORITIES FOR MY CLEANERS?

 1st Priority      Clean washrooms (Kitchens in Governors and Bishops)
2nd Priority      Garbage removal & cleaning corridors

 

3.  WHAT IS THE CLEANER RESPONSIBLE FOR IN GOVERNORS HALL KITCHENS?

 Kitchen cleaning each morning will include:

  • Wipe the counter tops (provided that counter is clear)

  • Wipe stove top (ovens will be cleaned monthly)

  • Wipe down the outside of fridge (inside will be cleaned monthly)

  • Clean the sink (not the dishes)

  • Empty garbage, recyclables & compost

  • Sweep & mop the floor

 

4.  WHAT ARE STUDENTS RESPONSIBLE FOR IN GOVERNORS HALL KITCHENS?

Students are expected to wash dishes, wipe countertops, remove items from the fridge etc. (Cleaning Supplies not provided)

Kitchens are open 24 hours.  However, the stoves and ovens will be shut-down from midnight to 6am.

 

5.  WHEN ARE THE SHOWERS CLEANED?    

Showers are deep cleaned weekly (walls & floors are sprayed down).  All showers are spot checked daily, not including Apartments & Governors Suites.

 

6.  WHEN ARE LOUNGES & LAUNDRY ROOMS CLEANED?

Weekly

 

7.  WHO DO I CONTACT TO REPORT SOMETHING WRONG?

 If you experience problems outside of the responsibility of the cleaner that is not related to student breakage (such as: broken windows, doors, heaters, locks, or problems with water or the washer and dryers) make request by: 

  1. Call FM Desk @ 2149
  2. Send email to fm@stfx.ca

For student breakages, contact your RLC.

 

8.  WHO DO I CALL IF I FEEL MY REPORT IS NOT BEING ADDRESSED IN A TIMELY MATTER?

 For cleaning requests, contact Peter MacDonald, Manager of Custodial Services at 3622.
