Dr. Fugere joined the Coady Institute in 1999. As the former Executive Director of the Inter-Church Fund for International Development (ICFID), he brings to the Institute a broad knowledge of the NGO International Development sector, and of grassroots popular organizing. He has over 20 years of experience working with NGOs in Latin America, Africa, Asia and the Caribbean. He teaches Management of Development Organizations and Philosophy of Development at the Coady Institute, and is working on the Institute's activities in Latin America.
Dr. Fugere received a PhD (Theology) from the University of Toronto, a BA (Classics) at Harvard University, as well as other graduate studies at the University of San Marcos and Duquesne University.
