Learning English for Academic Purposes (LEAP)
provides • Individual meetings with a LEAP instructor •Conversational vocabulary as well as academic terminology • Reading and writing to promote critical thinking • Opportunities to discuss and analyze academic texts • Feedback on academic writing assignments • A clearer understanding of the research process and how to document sources • Information and strategies for studying, preparing for exams, and managing stress • Individual assistance with course selection • Introduction to cultural life in Canada and in a Canadian university |

This four-week intensive program is designed for students who have some proficiency in English but are new to living and studying in English. |

Please provide the StFX Admissions department with an official English version
of your transcript to insure your receive your transfer credits.
During your first year at StFX, we encourage you to live on campus where you have the opportunity to speak English on a daily basis and meet many new people.
