IPL (Institute for Performance and Learning), Canada’s national training professional association, recognizes StFX’s adult education methodologies and awards our Diploma graduates with 1 year of work experience credit for the Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP) designation.

StFX’s Diploma in Adult Education is designed for working professionals. It consists of six modules that provide a solid foundation in adult education theory and practice ~ including needs assessment, adult education principles, learning objectives, evaluation, training design, learning styles, and facilitation.

Modules 1 to 5  require the completion of formal, graded assignments. Our facilitators model the experiential training methodology that graduates will use with their own learners. The Module 6 Practicum is a real-world training project and a report that are completed at-a-distance.

The Certificate in Adult Education (Modules 1 to 5) carries six StFX academic undergraduate credits, while the Diploma in Adult Education (Modules 1 to 6) carries 12 StFX academic undergraduate credits.
