The St. Francis Xavier Animal Care Facility is run by our excellent Animal Care Staff who are responsible for all aspects of animal care, health and well-being and for providing quality animal care for teaching and research in the departments of: Biology, Human Kinetics, Human Nutrition, Psychology, and Aquatic Resources. The animal care staff also look after the Department of Biology's greenhouse.

Jennifer van den Heuvel Jennifer has worked in the Animal Care Facility since 1993. She was promoted to the Senior position in September of 2014. When not at work, Jen spends time with her family and enjoys gardening. She is currently a 4-H Leader for the Heatherton 4-H Club. |

Jessica Swinkels Jessica has been working as the animal care technician since Spring 2019. As well as working in animal care, Jessica also works as a certified forestry technician and a certified English riding instructor. She also is currently one of the coaches for the 4-H woodsmen team. |
