Anne Simpson writes poetry, fiction, and essays. Her third novel, Speechless, and her second book of essays, Experiments in Distant Influence, both came out in 2020. She was the winner of the Griffin Poetry Prize for Loop, her second poetry collection, which was also a finalist for the Governor General’s Award. Four of her ten books have been Globe & Mail Best Books. She has been a faculty member at the Banff Centre and a writer-in-residence at universities across the country, most recently at Green College, UBC. She has also taught a number of creative writing courses at StFX.
