Application Process
Students who are interested in applying must submit an “Intent to Apply” form to the Department Chair the spring prior to applying to the program. Forms can be found in the main office of J. Bruce Brown or from a Dietetic Educator.
Once the intent to apply form has been approved, students complete an application package to be submitted by the deadline at the end of January. The application package includes a cover letter, resume, essay, confidential reports (references), and a composite evaluation (group reference) completed by the HNU department. Sessions are provided to guide applicants in preparing each section of their application package in the fall. Applicants are also strongly encouraged to meet with a Dietetic Educator to review their submission before the deadline
From the application package, select students will be invited to participate in an interview with the IDI Selection Committee, which is made up of members external to the HNU department. During this step of the selection process, students will be asked to prepare a portfolio describing their experiences and transferable skills.
