Course-Based Service Learning

Group of People

Course-Based Service Learning is an opportunity to try your academic skills outside of the classroom and to share your knowledge with the community. The Service Learning component in Spanish classes consist in creating projects for local, regional, or national non-profit organizations. In the process, you may be required to communicate with Spanish speakers, develop presentations about the Hispanic world, and/or teach Spanish. Students enrolled with Course-Based Service Learning Spanish courses created, for example, children's books for the People’s Place: Antigonish Public Library and mini documentaries for ACALA: Antigonish County Adult Learning Association.

All SPAN 100 and SPAN 200 courses taught by Dr. Wojciech Tokarz have a Service Learning component.
