PhD in Education

StFX began offering a Ph.D. program in Educational Studies in collaboration with Acadia and Mount Saint Vincent University in July 2011. This Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Education Studies is a full time 42 credit hour program.

It is important to note that the total admission quota for the three institutions is 14 students per year. Students are admitted on the basis of availability of appropriate dissertation supervisors in relation to one of the six theme areas of curriculum studies, literacy, inclusive education, lifelong learning, educational foundations and leadership, or psychological aspects of education.

StFX Departments of Curriculum and Leadership and the Department of Adult Education will be admitting 4 applicants per year from individuals with research interests in one of curriculum studies, literacy, inclusive education, lifelong learning, and educational foundations and educational leadership.

Admissions and program administration and course delivery is done collaboratively with all three institutions.
