Sexual Assault and Sexual Violence Support

St. Francis Xavier University does not tolerate any form of sexual violence

All members of the University community have a responsibility to support an environment that is conducive to the personal and professional growth of all who study, work and live within it.

At StFX we are educating our community about sexual violence while working to prevent sexual violence both on and off campus. Any and all acts of sexual violence will be addressed and individuals who have committed an act of sexual violence will be held accountable.

If you or others are in immediate danger, call 911 (24/7).  Your safety is important; go to a safe space.

If you have been sexually assaulted, the Sexual Assault Examiner Nurse (SANE) Program can provide immediate care and support (24/7):

A SANE is a Registered Nurse who has advanced training and education in forensic examinations of sexual assault survivors. Through this program, on-call SANE nurses provide immediate care and conduct forensic examinations of victims of sexual violence. SANE services are provided in a supportive, nonjudgmental, and confidential manner. StFX students have the option of being seen by the SANE nurse at either the on-campus Health and Counselling Centre (305 Bloomfield) or St. Martha’s Regional Hospital Emergency Department. Both options are available 24/7. 1-877-880-SANE (7263)
